Kathy Ann (Trent) Spangler, 64, Peculiar, MO, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Butler, MO. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to "Giving Fore Living", in honor of the Darin Wainscott Foundation.

Kathy was born July 1, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Robert and Wanda Mae (Hall) Trent. She was 1972 graduate of Harrisonville High School. Kathy married Donald Edward "Eddie" Spangler on December 12, 1972 in Miami, OK. They were married for 42 years. She was a lifelong resident of Cass County, MO.

Kathy had worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years. Most recently as a manager for Zurich Life Insurance in Overland Park, KS. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with her friend, Sherry Hockaday. She also enjoyed sitting at the slot machines, playing cards with Judy and Dennis Miller, watching the Royals, watching any sport her grandkids were playing, and shopping for shoes! Her most favorite hobby was her job.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Fred Trent, and her husband, Eddie, who died July 17, 2014. Kathy, also known as "MeMe Kathy" to her grandchildren and friends, is survived by one son, Jason Spangler, Peculiar, MO; one daughter, Kellie Waters (Jay), Butler, MO; two step-sons, Jeff Spangler and Donnie Spangler (Melinda), all of Harrisonville; two brothers, Richard DeLong (Leslie), Lafayette, LA and Rob Trent (Patsy), Glendale, AZ; one sister, Janet Risner, Harrisonville; four grandchildren, Jesse Waters, Butler, MO, Justen "Bo" Waters, (fiancée, Kiersten Morris) Overland Park, KS, Avery Spangler, Harrisonville, and Easton Spangler, Harrisonville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
