Kathy Ann Nunn, 73, of Harrisonville, Missouri passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Rock Brook Church in Belton, MO. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Brook Church, Belton, MO. Kathy had requested for all to provide a random act of kindness to someone in need. Our steps to a kinder world start here. Kathy was born July 28, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Glen Edward and Ella Verina (Ogan) Woodard. Kathy lived in Kansas City and was a 1966 graduate of Center High School. She went on to get her Associates Degree in Nursing and was a registered nurse for 25 years before her retirement in 2020. Kathy was united in marriage to Carl Lee Nunn on October 3, 1967 in Harrisonville. They were married for 31 years and were remarried October 8, 2006 in Belton, MO. Kathy had lived in Freeman and Peculiar, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 1984.
Kathy worked as an R.N. at ABC Health Care for 25 years and also worked at Research Psychiatric Center and at Cass Regional Medical Center. She specialized in caring for the mentally challenged and geriatric patients. She gave lovingly to others all the days of her life.
Kathy was very active in her church, The Rock Brook Church in Belton, and was a member of the choir, door greeters, the prayer team, Heart-n-Hand Christmas Project, and helped start a Christian Book Club. She also took a mission trip to the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her mother, and a brother, Larry Woodard. Kathy is survived by her husband, Doyle Guy Thurman, Harrisonville; a son, Jesse Lee Nunn, Oak Grove, MO; three daughters, Anita Marie Kepner (Montigue Earl Owsley), Urich, MO, Rita Jo Carter, Belton, MO, and Rachel Thurman; her father, Glen Edward Woodard (Earlene), Liberty, MO, and nine grandchildren, Tearstin Shiann Ogle, Carl John Carter, Jacob Sterling Kepner, Keayn Thurman, Emery Thurman, Calea Thurman, Liljah Earl Owsley, Max Earl Owsley, and Destiny Nicole Owsley.
