Obituary
Kathryn Marie Dobbs Plumb, 53, Adrian, Missouri, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Adam Howell Cemetery in Butler, Missouri, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Adrian. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn Plumb Memorial Fund or to the First Baptist Church, Adrian.
Kathryn was born September 19, 1961 in Malin, Oregon. She moved to Butler, Missouri, at a young age. She met Mark Dwaine Plumb when she was working as a waitress. They were married on June 30, 1994 at Park Wedding Chapel in Reno, Nevada by Rev. Gary Setzer. She wrote in her Bible, "The most exciting time we spent together was February 14, 1989, Valentine's Day." They were together from then on. Kathryn and Mark moved to Redding, California to be close to her brother and father. After the loss of her brother and father, they moved back to Missouri. On September 1, 2013, Kathryn and Mark were baptized by Rev. Jason, a Baptist preacher, at Pontiac Cave Resort, out in the river; a happy day for the whole family.
Kathryn loved her children and devoted every day to loving and caring for them. For family dinners, she always had to make her special macaroni salad, for it was the best. Mark's brother loved to give Kathryn a hard time and she just dished it right back at him. She would have everyone laughing. As Kathryn got sicker, she still had a smile for everyone and a good word for all. Kathryn would read to her youngest son, Donnie, every night and as she got weaker, Donnie would read to her. Her daughter, Kathleen and her family lived close by so she got to enjoy the grandchildren and have special talks with her daughter.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gene Dobbs and her brother, Donald Gene Dobbs, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Mark, of the home; four sons, Mark Plumb, Jr., Butler, Missouri, Nickolas Gene Plumb, Adrian, Dakota Cheyenne Plumb, Adrian, Donald Gene Dobbs Plumb, Adrian; two daughters, Amanda Jo Plumb, Oklahoma and Kathleen Marie Gilkey (Chuck), Adrian; one brother, Bobby Murray, Butler, Missouri; 5 grandchildren.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her; she touched many lives.
