Kathryn Louise Kohler, 93, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, MO, with family and love around her. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville.
Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Louise's name to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Louise was born February 17, 1924 in Moundridge, KS, the daughter of Phillip and Rose (Morelock) Ritthaler. She married John Harold Kohler, Jr. on June 22, 1947 in Pleasant Hill, MO. Louise was a graduate of Moundridge High School. She worked at Lake City Ammunition plant during the war. She worked as a secretary for Pleasant Hill High School for 25 years where she touched many young lives with her wit and dynamic personality. Louise was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Group. She was also a member of a local Red Hat group and the Pleasant Hill extension club. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, two brothers, Dick and Carl Ritthaler and one sister, Ruby Armstrong. She is survived by four children, Phil Kohler and wife, Nikki, Daryl Kohler and wife, Paula, all of Pleasant Hill, MO, Lynn McCaleb and husband, Jackie, Charlotte, NC, and Kevin Kohler and wife, Cheryl, Chanhassen, MN; 9 grandchildren, Clay Kohler and wife, Rebecca, Cliff Kohler and spouse, Carter Vanosek, Tami Wilson and husband, Josh, Bryan Kohler, Spencer Kohler and wife, Kathy, Leslie Christofel and husband, Tom, Brooke McCaleb and wife, Alexis, Brett Kohler, and Lauren Kohler; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
