Kathryn "Katie" K. Wright, 95, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville.  Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, MO, Pleasant Hill, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation.

Katie was born September 12, 1924 in Pleasant Hill, MO, a daughter of William A. and Della M. (Wilburn) Kimbrell.  She was a 1942 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School.  She married Dale Wright on May 13, 1948 in Omaha, NE.  They lived in Pleasant Hill before moving to Harrisonville in 1949.  She worked as a cashier for Scavuzzo's Grocery for four years and then for Buy Rite for 13 years, retiring in 1987.

Katie had been very active in several community organizations.  She was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4409 and was a member of the CRMC Auxiliary since 1990.  She was also a life member and past president of the Harrisonville Optimist New Horizon Women's Auxiliary Club.  She was in charge of the Optimist Club concession stand for many years at the North Park ball field.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale on July 9, 1989, and two grandchildren, Jeremy and Nathan.  She is survived by her children, Marsha Ogden (Dan), Freeman, MO, Susan Brinkman (Doug), Lynchurg, VA, Cathy Bevelot ((Don), Reedsport, OR, Kevin Wright (Teresa), Lee's Summit, MO, Steve Wright (Sharon), Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Bob Kimbrell (Billie Jean), Pleasant Hill, MO; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Wright (Michelle), Jon Ogden (Christine), Josh Brinkman (Bethany), Sara Carr (Nick), Jennifer Trussel (John), and Joe Wright; 12 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
