Kathryn Jean Fansler, 77, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Meadow View of Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.
Kathryn was born July 1, 1939 in Carl Junction, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer Preston and Josephine L. (Johnson) Wilson. She was raised in Carl Junction and moved to Springfield, Missouri and Pleasant Hill, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville. She married William LeRoy Fansler on December 14, 1969.
Kathryn managed the Hotel 6 in Springfield. She and LeRoy owned and operated donut shops in Pleasant Hill and Harrisonville. Kathryn was also a cook at the Memorial Hospital in Harrisonville for 10 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW group in Harrisonville, Harrisonville Lions Club and a local Red Hat group. Kathryn loved to bake and do crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William on November 8, 1999, and one brother, Elmer Leroy Wilson. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
