K athleen M. Smith, 66, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her home in Harrisonville.  A Celebration of Life was held Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonvillle, MO. K athleen was born July 15, 1954 in Manhattan, KS, a daughter of Marvin and Marjorie (Bluthardt) Umscheid.  Kathleen married William F. "Bill" Smith, Jr. on April 22, 1977 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush, KS.  Kathleen had lived in Manhattan, KS, Belton, MO and Archie, MO before moving to Harrisonville 1996.

Kathleen worked as a postal carrier for the U. S. Post Office in Kansas City, MO.  She received her paramedic certification from Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, MO and had worked for the City of Harrisonville as a paramedic from 1996-2001.  She also worked at Harrisonville Wal-Mart Distribution until her retirement.  She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush, KS.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dorie Smith.  She is survived by her husband, Bill Smith, of the home; two sons: Eric Smith and wife DeeAnn, Raymore, MO; and their four children: Briana, Ashlyn, Kennady and Paityn Smith; and Shane Smith and wife, Tori, Kansas City, MO; and their three children: Sofia, Tyce and Sadie Smith; one daughter, Bobbie Bruno and husband, Dustin, Pleasant Hill, MO; and their children: and Hadelynn, Rusty, and Silvia Bruno; and one sister, Theresa Peterson, Westmoreland, KS.
