Justin Lee Schumaker, 20 of Belton, MO, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Research Belton Hospital in Belton, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31 at the Cornerstone Community Church, 1704 Waters Road, Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Corder Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Corder, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Justin L. Schumaker memorial fund, c/o Atkinson Funeral Home, 600 West Wall Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701, to help with funeral expenses.

Justin was born December 27, 1988 in Lee's Summit, MO, the son of Rick and Jacqueline (McMechan) Schumaker. He grew up in Odessa, MO where he attended school.

Justin was an avid lead guitar player. He was great! He enjoyed it more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with his two brothers and playing in his band, EMPIRE. Justin loved to drive and skateboard.

On August 4, 2009, Justin and his mom received Christ in their lives. Thank you, Mark Lockard. I love you; Justin loves you and we both loved Christ.

Justin was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John McMechan and James Schumaker, Jr., one uncle, Aaron Schumaker, his grandmothers, Ruth Short and Rena Schumaker and a great-grandfather, James Schumaker, Sr.

Justin is survived by his mother, Jackie Schumaker of Belton, MO; his father, Rick Schumaker of Corder, MO; two brothers, Joshua Schumaker of Higginsville, MO and Dylan Schumaker of Corder, MO and two grandmothers, Margaretha McMechan of Grain Valley, MO and Leita Schumaker of Corder, MO.
