June Katherine Brookshire, 93, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at her son's home in Independence, MO. Funeral services were held on June 4, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO.  Inurnment will take place at Orient Cemetery at a later date.

June was born on June 27, 1930, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Ida (Tahalheim) Pagel. June graduated from high school in 1948. She was married to the love of her life, Urban Brookshire, on October 4, 1952, and together they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

June was known for her warm and gentle demeanor, always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. She spent countless hours crocheting and quilting, creating beautiful works of art that will serve as cherished keepsakes for her loved ones. A dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, June found solace and community in her faith. She was a pillar of strength and love in her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

June is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urban Brookshire; and three brothers: Victor Pagel, Roger Pagel, and Robert Pagel. She is survived by her children: Jovita (Richard) Evans, Bart Brookshire, and Bert Brookshire; two grandsons: Seth (Renee) Evans and Ryan Evans; and three great-granddaughters, Rory, Brittany, and Mylee Evans.
