Obituary

Julie Leona Lewis, 47, of Raymore, Missouri, was called home on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Belton Research Hospital, Belton, Mo. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Mo with burial in Dayton Cemetery, Garden City, Mo. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 p.m Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Julie was born February 12, 1969 in Kansas City, Mo to Benny Melbourn and Kitty Jane (Briden) Cole. She was a 1987 graduate of Harrisonville High School. In high school, she received the "Best Actress" award her sophomore year. She followed a dream, when she attended the Cass Career Center and earned her LPN, receiving the Outstanding Graduate Award. On May 13, 2000, she was united in marriage to Kevin Jackson Lewis, starting a family with him.

Through the years, she worked at her father's decorating store, held different nursing positions, became a stay at home mother and recently sold Scentsy. She enjoyed bonfires, camping, going to the lake, hanging out with friends and family, acting, singing, animals, working in her yard, decorating her house, thrift store shopping, antiquing and traveling.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Ben Cole. She is survived by her husband Kevin Jackson Lewis of the home and their three children, Nicholas (age 14), Gracee (age 11) and Amelia (Age 4). She is also survived by her mother Kitty Cole-Fountain and husband, Ron of Deep Water, Mo; two sisters, Lynn Lee and husband, Mark of Broken Arrow, Ok and Tina Mattingley and husband, Jerry of Garden City, Mo; Step-Sister Jennifer Zamudio and husband, Cesar, Lee's Summit Mo; Step-Brother Ken Fountain, Lee's Summit, MO; Mother and father in-law, Don and Nancy Lewis of Blue Springs, Mo; sister-in-law Stacy Daher and husband, Dominic of San Francisco, Ca; nephews and nieces, Alicia, Chris, Rebecca, Adam, Ethan, Matt, Jake, J.D.,Scarlett, Dominic, Dori and Joey and countless friends that she considered family.
