Julie K. Campbell, 43, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville.  A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Medical Center or Wayside Waifs of Kansas City.

Julie was born March 19, 1975, in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Jerry Leonard Kent and Elizabeth Jane (Kern) Sixbey. She graduated from Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, AR, and received her BS degree in Nursing from Rockhurst University in Kansas City in 2004. Julie worked at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City and Cass County Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. She had lived in Harrisonville for ten years.  Julie had a big heart. She always wanted to take care of others. Her laughter could be heard through walls and down hallways. Her nature was to make the people around her smile and be joyful. Her compassion, tenacity, positive energy and generosity stood out to all who knew her.

In addition to care taking, Julie loved gardening, farming, and crafting. Her farm animals and pets were some of her biggest joys--her dogs, Sardonic, Lucy, Blue, Max, and Poppy; horses Mancha and Levi; her chickens, and of course, her beloved peacock, Peacock.

Julie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy L. Kern; and her aunt and uncle, Kay and Tom Chapman, of whom she was truly devoted.  She is survived by her mother, Jane Sixbey, Kansas City, MO; her father, Jerry Kent, Topeka, KS; a brother, Jason Kent, Olathe, KS; brother, Brandon; sister, Rosalind Sixbey, Denver, CO; sister, Lindsey; her paternal grandmother, Alta Kent; nieces, Karley Kent, Claire Kent, and Grace Kent, Olathe, KS, Lillyan, Maizie, Fynnlea, Julia, and Jenna, and a nephew, Fischer.  She was blessed to have a wonderful partner in life, Travis Young, and adored his daughter, Mari Ann.
