Joyce A. Runyon, 85, Adrian, Missouri, passed away Friday October 29, 2021 at her home.  Funeral Services were  Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial  at the Belton Cemetery in Belton, MO.

Joyce was born December 10, 1935 in Stilwell, KS, a daughter of Alva and Fannie Grace (McKinley) Kinnison.  She lived in Freeman, MO prior to moving to Adrian, MO in 1988.  Joyce married Allen S. Runyon on September 1, 1950.  She worked as a mailing supervisor for the Holy Land Christian Mission in Kansas City, MO for over 20 years before retiring.  She later worked at New Castle Homes in Harrisonville, MO until she retired again.  She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.  Joyce was an avid gardener, especially of her Iris, a bird watcher and hummingbird feeder with the help of her great-grandson, Brody.  She loved to read and kept her books in alphabetical order by author.  She liked to cook and try new recipes and will be remembered for her zucchini casserole along with others.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Alva Kinnison, a sister, Anna Tull, son-in-law, Ed Hughes and grandson, Jacob Farr.  She is survived by her husband, Allen of the home; son, Allen "Pete" Runyon, Adrian, MO; three daughters, Kathy Hughes of Lee's Summit, MO, Diane Goode, husband Dave of Lone Jack, MO and Marsha Farr, husband Shane of Independence, MO.

Joyce was a doting grandmother to:  Brian Banks, Brad Banks, Mandy Strawn, Zachary Runyon, Hannah Runyon Teeter, Chad Runyon and Jessica Farr.  She was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
