Joyce Ann Kirk, 71, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 11:00-12:00. Burial will be in Pitts Chapel Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Joyce was born March 13, 1945 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Ernest C. and Edna Althea (Rice) Schmoll. She was a 1963 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. Joyce married James "Jim" Richard Kirk on November 24, 1962. She was a lifelong Cass County, Missouri resident.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim on July 31, 2015. She is survived by two sons, David Kirk, Greenwood, Missouri and Darren Kirk, Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Denise Ponds, Belton, Missouri, Danelle Roach, Garden City, Missouri, and Deeta Geddes, Merriam, Kansas; one brother, Ernest "E. C." Schmoll, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Epps, Grandview, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
