Josh was born October 7, 1986 in Lee's Summit, MO, the son of Jeff and Laura (Zimmerman) Roberts. He was a 2005 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School where he played soccer throughout his high school years. Josh had traveled to and had lived in Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV before moving back to Peculiar.

Josh married Brianna Bowman on June 7, 2013 in Liberty, MO. He was a barber for Purple Label Luxury Barber Shop in Overland Park, KS. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar and had been a member of Young Life.

Josh is survived by his parents, Jeff and Laura Roberts, Peculiar, MO; his wife, Brianna, one son, Gunnar Roberts, and a step-son, Bradyn Wilson, all of Belton, MO; three brothers, Joseph Roberts, Belton, MO, Jake Roberts, Freeman, MO, and Jesse Roberts, Peculiar, MO; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Gynith Roberts, Blue Springs, MO; maternal grandparents, Joe and Pat Zimmerman, Wheatland, MO; an uncle, Jeff Zimmerman (Leslie), Tulsa, OK and an aunt, Stephanie Roberts, Blue Springs, MO.
