Joseph "Mac" Lyons McLaughlin, 71, Peculiar, Missouri, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Joe was born March 14, 1944 in Vero Beach, Florida, the son of Joseph Knox and Edwina (Ritscher) McLaughlin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Joan Campbell on October 13, 1963 in Scotland. He had lived in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Peculiar.
Joe was a master electrician and owned his own electrical commercial/residential business. He had worked for Superior Asphalt as a foreman; was a computer programmer, and was an ordained minister.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Steve McLaughlin, and his wife, Joan, on December 29, 2015. He is survived by four daughters, Rhonda McLaughlin, Raytown, Missouri, Joanne McLaughlin, Kansas City, Missouri, Pam Gisler, Kansas City, Missouri, and Tricia Moffett, Raymore, Missouri; one brother, Alan McLaughlin, Austin, Texas; one sister, Leslie Isbell, Conroe, Texas; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
