Retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Joseph E. King, 84, of Harrisonville, MO passed away at his home in Harrisonville on Saturday, March 7, 2020.  Funeral services were held  Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.   Burial, with full military honors, was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Joe was born June 13, 1935 in Hayti, MO, a son of Joseph W. and Grace (Rolman) King.  He was a 30-year veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retiring in 1983 as a Chief Master Sergeant.  Joe was united in marriage to Bernice Ann Thomas on March 21, 1953 in Wamego, KS.  They had lived in the Cass County, Harrisonville area for over 35 years.

Joe is survived by his wife, Bernice, of the home; three sons, Joseph E. King, Jr (Karlene), Burgaw, NC, Jerry (Gayle) King, Harrisonville, and Jeff King (Jean), Ft. Worth, TX; a daughter, Janet Fauerbach, Claremore, OK; one brother, Stephen W. (Patty) King, Topeka, KS; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
