Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
John was born November 27, 1933 in Grand River, OK, the son of David Harry and Fannie Mae (Ventele) Phillips. He married Virginia "Ginger" C. Shears on January 24, 1953 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They lived in Parsons, KS and Kansas City, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1963.
John owned Johnnie's Tire in Harrisonville for 25 years before retiring in 2003. was a member and a deacon of Coleman Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Johnny Dean Phillips and Mark J. Phillips and one daughter, Tori Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Ginger, of the home; one daughter, Sheena L. Humphrey, Harrisonville, MO; three sisters, Rosie Graver, OK, May Goul, Shawnee Mission, KS and Ilene Faulkner, Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
