John Roland "Tippy" Toomey, 87, of Andover, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025. A celebration of John's life will be announced at a later date.

Born in Hackensack, NJ, John was raised in Park Ridge and graduated from Park Ridge High School in 1957. He spent his career as a proud union Ironworker with the Stone Derrickmen & Riggers Local 197, retiring after many dedicated years of service.

John was a lifelong sports enthusiast - he loved playing baseball, softball, football, and basketball. He was also a devoted auto racing fan. Outside of sports, John had a green thumb and took great pride in keeping his yard beautifully blooming throughout the seasons.

He was the son of the late John and Virginia Toomey. John is survived by his beloved wife, Carole; their three children: Kerry Murphy and her husband, Martin, of Pittsburgh, PA; Kevin Toomey and his wife, Michelle, of Lee's Summit, MO; and Joseph Toomey and his wife, Sabrina, of Saylorsburg, PA. He was a cherished grandfather to Sarah Murphy, Nathan Toomey (and his wife, Zoey), and Trinity Toomey.
