John W. Todd, 96, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas.  Services were held Friday, August 31, 2018 at at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with a Masonic services at noon.  Burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice House Volunteers.

John was born January 5, 1922 in Clinton, MO, a son of John William and Mary Rose (Schellman) Todd.  He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.) in 1941, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.  He was united in marriage to Delma Witte on September 1, 1944 in Clovis, New Mexico.  He had been a Cass County resident since 1950.

He was the operator at the Harrisonville Power Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1984.  He also worked for the Harrisonville police and water departments. He was a member of Cass Masonic Lodge #147 AF & AM, Harrisonville, Kansas City Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine, Kansas City, MO.  He was also a member of VFW Post 4409, Harrisonville.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Delma, on June 5, 2011.  He is survived by two sons, John Todd Jr. and wife, Joyce, Ottawa, KS, and Dennis Todd and wife, Louise, Brenham, TX; two daughters, Gwen Brungardt and husband, Phil, Overland Park, KS, and Lynelle Scrivo, Kansas City, KS; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
