John David Shaw, 62, Blue Springs, MO, died Monday, August 13, 2007 in Independence, MO. Funeral services 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 17 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 16 at the chapel. Interment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. Contributions may be made to the CMSU Scholarship Fund.

John was born Sunday, July 29, 1945 in Washington, MO, the son of Ralph James and Ester LeeWana (Nowell) Shaw. He grew up in Nevada, MO and lived in the Kansas City, MO area most of his life. He married Phyllis Lynn Schnakenberg on July 8, 2000.

John received a bachelor's degree in vocational education and also received a master's degree in Engineering Technology from CMSU, Warrensburg, MO. He worked as an Engineering Technician for Black & Veatch. John had taught at Vatterott College and ITT Technical Institute in Kansas City.

John was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Shaw and his mother, Ester Kindrick, one brother, James Michael Shaw and stepfather, Ronald John Kindrick. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lynn Shaw, of the home; four sons, Mike Shaw, North Kansas City, MO, Justin Shaw, Blue Springs, MO, Travis Shaw, New York, NY and Erin Shaw, Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Jonna Shaw, Kansas City, MO and Jamie Milks, Parkville, MO; three stepdaughters, Melissa Grass, Concordia, MO, Rebecca King, Osawatomie, KS and Sarah Visetin, Ft. Campbell, KY; one sister, Donna Drake, Blue Springs, MO; two grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.
