John Henry Schick, 87, Reinbeck, IA, died August 17, 2018 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, IA.  A memorial service was held  Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Reinbeck, IA.  Graveside services were Friday, August 24, 2018 at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. John was born January 19, 1931 in Bayard, IA, a son of Carl John and Erna Amanda (Fischer) Schick. He grew up in Reinbeck and was a 1948 graduate of Reinbeck High School.  John entered the U.S. Navy in December 1950, and served during Korea and Vietnam before his discharge in January 1977.  After his discharge, John worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass for 13 years before retiring again in 1991.  He was united in marriage to Joanne N. Langdon on July 16, 1953 in Augusta, GA.  John had lived in Olathe, KS before moving to Harrisonville in 1992.  After Joanne's death on September 3, 2013, John moved back to Reinbeck. He was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.

John is survived by a son, John Schick, and his wife, Diane Cooper-Schick, Bellingham, WA; two daughters, Cynthia Ernst, and her husband, Donald, Lee's Summit, MO, and Sue Couture, and her husband, Mark, Fair Oaks, CA; three brothers, Robert Schick, Plover, WI, Carl Schick, Reinbeck, and Henry Schick, Morrison, IA; five sisters, Pearl Heikens, Courtland, VA, Jean Newton, Grundy Center, IA, Joan Fogt, Reinbeck, IA, Lavonne Hougen, Grundy Center, IA, and Lois Schick, Lakewood, CO; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Elizabeth, Natalie, Erin and Emily.

John was a loving father, grandfather, husband, and brother.  He will be sorely missed.
