John Benton Mott, 83, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at his home.  A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Harrisonville Community Center in Harrisonville, MO.

John was born October 27, 1938 in Blairstown, MO, a son of Carl and Cleo Mabel (Reynolds) Mott.  He married Julia Carlson on June 30, 1972 in Kansas City, MO.  They had lived in Excelsior Springs, MO before moving to Harrisonville.  John owned a body shop in Kansas City, MO for several years.  He retired from Lowe's.

John was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters: Diane Cox and Joneal Glover; three brothers: Leroy, Gene, and Robert; and 1 sister, Bertie Mae Smith.  He is survived by his wife, Julia, of the home; one son, James Glover, Excelsior Springs, MO; one daughter, Jeanette Hartfeld, Atlanta, GA; three sisters: Wilma Herndon, Butler, MO; Nita Johnson, Pleasant Hill, MO; and Geneva Springer, Harrisonville, MO; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
