John Sedwick Latimer, Jr., 69 of Harrisonville, MO died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at Spencer Hall, (parish hall next door to church).

John was born September 21, 1940 in Rockville, Maryland, the son of John Sedwick and Margaret Elizabeth (Somervell) Latimer. He was a graduate of Calvert County High School in Maryland and received a bachelor of science degree in economics from Avila College in Kansas City, MO.

John married Frances McDonald on September 19, 1963 in Kansas City, MO. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1996. He worked in aircraft maintenance for civil service at Richards Gebaur before retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Harrisonville. John had owned and operated John's Rent-All in Harrisonville since 1978.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Fran of the home; one son, John S. Latimer of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Tom Latimer of St. Leonard, Maryland and two sisters, Betsy Hillery of Davidsonville, Maryland and Suzanne Bowen of Davidsonville, Maryland.
