John D. Hubbard, 77, of Butler, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. No services are scheduled at this time.

John was born December 13, 1946 in Nevada, MO, a son of Cecil Alfred and Alice Corrine (Ellis) Hubbard. He attended Butler High School and worked at C & C Market while in high school. After school, he joined the Army and served a year in Vietnam as a military policeman and security officer. Following his service, John dedicated himself to the family business, Hubbard's Orchards, where he poured his heart into operations and sales.

John attended Steveson Air Conditioning and Refrigeration School in Kansas City, and opened his own business, working on refrigeration units. After retiring, John returned to the roots of the land he loved, the fruit and vegetable business, running roadside markets all around the area. He was a member of the Butler, MO VFW Post #4416.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Hubbard; and a sister, Ellen Scott. John is survived by two sons: Hank Hubbard, Butler, MO; and Wesley Hubbard, Amsterdam, MO; a daughter, Misty (Chadd) Monard, Montrose, MO; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
