John Robert Davis, affectionately known as "Lil John" to friends and family, left this world on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 70. A visitation to honor John's life and memory was held at  the  Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Born on February 20, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, John spent his early years moving before finally making Harrisonville, MO, his beloved home in 1969. A proud graduate of Harrisonville High School, Class of 1973, John made a lasting mark in his community. He met Lorraine Mätter-Lackey, and together they had their daughter, April Dawn. Eventually, he met Vicki Foreman, and they ended up marrying in the late 1980's, before they eventually divorced.

John dedicated his life to the automotive repair industry, honing his skills as an auto mechanic throughout his career. He worked at several notable establishments, including Dave Cox Auto Repair and Sterling Bearing Inc. His passion for cars was unmatched; he loved nothing more than to tinker with engines, often taking things apart just to figure out how to put them back together. Outside of work, John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He cherished moments spent with friends, working on puzzles, and watching his favorite television shows.

Lil John was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse "Bud" Davis and Maxine Davis; his infant brother, Bobby "Sonny" Sportsman; his sister, Carol Shepherd; his wife, Vicki Foreman; and his step-son, Larry Foreman. He is survived by his daughter, April Dawn, of Osceola, MO; his grandchildren: Austin Lackey of Belton, MO; Michael Willis of Ft. Scott, KS; Allison Willis and Katelin Willis, both of Osceola, MO; his great-grandson, Jesse Willis; and his brother-in-law, Ed Shepherd.
