Joanne N. (Langdon) Schick, 80, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Haven or the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.

Joanne was born May 16, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (Shults) Harvey. She was a graduate of Ottawa, Kansas High School and had received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1954.

Joanne married John H. Schick on July 16, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia. Joanne worked for Johnson County Health Department for 10 years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church and had taught Precepts Bible Class from 1992 until present. She was a volunteer at the Harrisonville Elementary School and was a previous member of the Harrisonville BPW.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill Langdon, two step-fathers and one niece, Alissa Langdon. She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; one son, John Schick and his wife, Diane Cooper-Schick, Bellingham, Washington; two daughters, Cynthia Ernst and her husband, Donald, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Sue Couture and her husband, Mark, Citrus Height, California; one brother, Bob Langdon and his wife, Margie, Parkville, Missouri; two sisters, Rebecca McRobbie and her husband, Michael, Greensboro, Georgia and Beverly Langdon Bishop, Ashville, North Carolina and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Elizabeth, Natalie, Erin and Emily.

Joanne loved teaching Precepts Bible Study, pink roses, and helping the less fortunate among us. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all.
