JoAnn Laura Bearce, 76, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.  A funeral mass was held  Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

JoAnn was born February 3, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John Joseph and Irene (Berry) Powers.  She married Ellis Bearce on May 16, 1987 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville.  JoAnn had lived in North Kansas City, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1984.  She worked as a secretary of the BioMed Department at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City for 20 years before retiring in 2009.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ellis on June 27, 2011.  She is survived by a daughter, Laurel Cooper, Harrisonville, MO; step-daughter, Deborah Harris, Ft. Scott, KS; stepson, Terry Bearce, Brick, NJ; two sisters, Patricia Summey, California, MO and Constance Cole, North Kansas City, MO; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
