Jimmy Edwin Mathews, 76 of West Line, MO, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services were held  Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, MO.   Memorial contributions may be made to Casco Area Workshop.

Jimmy was born October 19, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Alfred Vaughn and Reba (Wilbur) Mathews.  He was a life-long resident of West Line, MO and had worked on the kitchen staff at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base in Belton, MO before the base closed. Jimmy had a passion for stock car races, mud racing, exploring salvage yards for old cars, and the weekly Jamboree at the West Line Community Building.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill.  He is survived by a brother, Gary Mathews and wife Phyllis, West Line, MO; two sisters, Teresa Bailey and husband Harold, Peculiar, MO, and Barbara Mathews, South Carolina; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
