Jimmie Thomas Sisk, 79 of Adrian, MO passed away at his home Thursday November 29, 2017, surrounded by his family and dogs that he loved more than anything. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.
Jimmie was born December 26, 1937 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Junior and Carilla (Courtney) Sisk. He was the oldest of his brothers, Harold Dean (Jake) Sisk, Billie Dean Sisk, and his sister Anna Mae (Sisk) Stark. Jimmie graduated from Archie High School in 1955. Soon after he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where Jimmie said he had some of the greatest times of his life.
Jimmie was united in marriage to Arlys Darlene Hedges of Archie, MO. Together they had three children, Jimmie Thomas Sisk, Robin Diane (Sisk) Meade, and Chuck Michael Sisk. The family settled east of Adrian on a small farm that he was very proud of. Jimmie worked for over 30 years at Bendix before retiring.
Jimmie loved to fish, hunt, and ride his motorcycles. Also he loved to draw and was quite the artist. He spent lots of his child and adulthood fishing and enjoying the outdoors at the Grand River. Jimmie had something very special about himself. No matter when or where he was, Jimmie made lifelong connections with people. Everyone knew and loved Jimmy. He was very passionate about the things he believed in. If there was anyone who could tell a story, it sure was Jimmie Sisk.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Carilla Sisk, one sister, whom he loved dearly, Anna Mae (Sisk) Stark, and a grandson, Benjamin. He is survived by his children, Jimmie Thomas Sisk, Jr., Hannibal, MO, Robin Meade (David), Butler, MO, Chuck Sisk, Urich, MO; two brothers, Harold Dean Sisk (Cheryl), Georgia, and Billie Dean Sisk, Archie, MO; 5 grandchildren, Jeramiah, Sarah, Tracy, Billy, and Bethany. Jimmie was also blessed with several great-grandchildren and was an amazing uncle and great-uncle.
