Jessie Nila Marie Skinner, 98, Greenwood, Missouri, died Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Luke's East in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3 at Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee's Summit, Missouri under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Jessie was born August 11, 1918 in Rantoul, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur B. and Minnie (Kern) Crane. She worked as a nurse at various nursing homes and retired at age 73 from Arkhaven Nursing Care Facility in Ft. Scott, Kansas. Jessie had worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" at the Lockheed Corporation in Sunnyvale, California during WWII. She had modeled when she was younger.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Earl Crane, Harry Crane, Dean Crane, and one sister, Bonnie Duncan. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Ward, Adrian, Missouri, Joyce Niblock (Larry), Pleasant Valley, Missouri, Janet Wendt (Don), Greenwood, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, George, Kevin, Chastity, Cory, Dan, Dawn and Alex; 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
