Jerry Wayne Winters, 68, Kansas City, MO, died Monday, August 1, 2016 in Independence, MO. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Jerry was born February 27, 1948 in Harrisburg, AR, the son of Jim E. and Ora Marie (Tibbs) Winters. He was a 1967 graduate of Weiner, Arkansas High School. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad. Jerry enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Edna Winters, one daughter, Sheilah Winters, three brothers, Buddy Winters, Jimmy Winters and Clayton Winters. He is survived by one son, Christopher "Chris" Winters, Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Tammy Lyon (Jeremy), Kansas City and Kimberly Brown (Kyle), League City, TX; three brothers, David Winters (Marsha), Wynne, AR, Roy Freeman and Charles Freeman; two sisters, Daisy Hollis (W. G. Tate), Jonesboro, AR and Edna Gaskin (Buddy), Harrisburg, AR; 7 grandchildren, Virginia Winters, Cody Hasenohr, Madison Lyon, Dawson Adams, Christopher Adams, Hayden Adams, and Kaylynn Brown, and one great-grandchild, Holden Ringwalt.
