Jerry L. McClain, 62 of Peculiar, MO died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Cremation to follow with burial in Hamilton, MO at a later date.
Jerry was born April 6, 1948 in Hamilton, MO to Kenneth W. and Marjorie M. (Bathgate) McClain. On October 17, 1970 he was united in marriage to Kathy Yurkovich. He worked for Honeywell as a tool and die mechanic for nearly 27 years. He was a member of the IAM Machinist Union.
Jerry loved fishing, mushroom hunting and listening to Signature Sound Gospel concerts. He enjoyed going to firework displays and family cookouts at Ron and Helen's. He loved his family and his garage cat, Thumper.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; two daughters, Kelly Kolepp and husband, Daniel, of Harrogate, England, and Shelly McClain of Peculiar, MO; one brother, Ron McClain and wife, Helen, of Cleveland, MO; two sisters, Kristy McClain and Merri McClain both of Belton, MO; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends.
