Jerry Dale Ketchum, 76, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his home. Graveside/memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Strasburg Cemetery in Strasburg, Missouri. Visitation 11:00-12:00 with Masonic Services at noon Saturday at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Jerry was born June 10, 1938 in Slater, Missouri, the son of William and Edna (Holtzclaw) Ketchum. He lived in Peculiar, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville, Missouri in 1951. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jerry owned and operated Ketchum Carpets in Harrisonville for over 25 years. He had worked for the City of Peculiar Waste Water Treatment Plant before he retired in 2015.
Jerry was a member of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54 in Shawnee, Kansas since 1997, Scottish Rite, Kansas City, Missouri, Ararat Shrine, Kansas City and a former member of the Ararat Motor Escort and Ararat Hillbillies. He was also a member of the Raymore Eagles, the International Moose Lodge, Cass County Elks Lodge, American Legion Post #42 in Harrisonville and the American Legion Riders, and the VFW Post in Montrose.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son, Jack Ketchum, Harrisonville, Missouri; one brother, Jay Ketchum, Cameron, Missouri; 1 granddaughter, Jacqueline Bunger; 3 great-grandchildren, and his longtime friend, Nancy Sipes, Harrisonville, Missouri.
