Jenny was born September 21, 1919 in Warsaw, Missouri, the daughter of Charles E. and Elsie (Bailey) Hughes. She grew up in the Peculiar, Missouri area and had attended Pleasant Prairie Rural School #120 in Union Township. She married James R. Floyd on December 22, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jenny had a number of jobs in her early life, including working at the Post Office in Peculiar in the 1940's, Sears and owned a café in Peculiar. She had lived in Kansas City and Claycomo before moving to Blue Springs in 1984. Jenny had always been an active member in her church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James on January 19, 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Annette Lackey (Larry) and Roma Troxel (Fred), all of Blue Springs, Missouri; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
