It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennie Lee Johnson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the age of 94. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.
Born on March 18, 1931, in Red Oak, Iowa, Jennie was the cherished daughter of Silas and Virgie (Petty) England. A proud graduate of Harrisonville High School, Jennie dedicated her life to her family and home, embodying the true spirit of a loving homemaker. She was especially known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her community. As a founding member of Antioch Baptist Church in Gladstone, Missouri, she lived her faith with grace, kindness, and a compassionate heart.
Jennie was a vibrant soul with a love for life. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including sewing beautiful creations, embracing the thrill of water skiing until her early 80's, and finding solace in reading her Bible. Her laughter and warmth brought joy to those around her. Jennie shared a lifelong love story with her beloved husband John Johnson, whom she married on January 27, 1950. Together, they built a beautiful life, always sharing a twinkle in their eyes until John's passing in 2022.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Johnson; her daughter, Theresa Johnson; her daughter-in-law, Billi Johnson; her sister, Louise; her brothers: Earl England, Frances England, and Daniel England. She leaves behind her children: Thomas Johnson; daughter, Pam (Don) Vaughan; and Earl (Angie) Johnson; her seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda.
