Jeffery "Jeff" Dee Cherry was born May 19, 1965 in Wichita, Kansas, a son of Randal A. and Rosalee (Turner) Cherry.  Jeff passed away suddenly at the age of 56, on January 5, 2022.  He grew up and spent his early years in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was a 1983 graduate of Shawnee High School.  He had lived in the Kansas City area since 1987.

Jeff was the CEO of Cherry & Associates in Riverside, MO for many years, but his main passion was helping others.  He worked as a social worker at many of the addiction centers in the Kansas City and Oklahoma area, and was the caretaker to his mom and dad. Jeff loved to garden, growing tomatoes with his dad was a passion.  You could always count on an amazing home cooked meal, and he always made sure to burn his mom's steaks to perfection.  He loved to read and learn.  His many hobbies included the theater, traveling, and of course, his family.  He spent many late nights watching television with his mom, and loved wrestling with his nieces.  Jeff attended and spent many hours working at Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City.  The best times of his life were spent in Cameron, MO at his horse ranch with his life partner, Gregory.

Jeff was preceded in death by his life partner, Gregory Smith, his maternal grandparents, Dee and Jewel Turner, and his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Nellie Cherry.  He is survived by his parents, Randal and Rosalee Cherry, Belton, MO; his sister, Kim Barnett and husband Randy, Pleasant Hill, MO; two nieces, Branigan Caddell and husband Ryan, Raymore, MO, and Bailey Cook, Raymore; three great-nieces, Charlie Rose, Zoe, Presley, and many other relatives and friends.
