Jeannene E. (Coles) Kartsonis, 80, Dallas, TX, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Highlands of Dallas Healthcare Center in Dallas, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville.

Jeannene was born April 5, 1931 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Clifford L. and Vera Jewel (Morris) Coles. Jeannene was a long time resident of Harrisonville from the 1970's through the late 1990's and returned to her native Texas to live out her days after the death of her husband, Paul Murray Kartsonis, who preceded her in death in 1997. She had lived at the Highlands of Dallas Healthcare Center for the past two years.

Prior to moving to the Harrisonville area in 1972, Jeannene had a successful career as a legal and executive secretary in Kansas City, both in the advertising and insurance industries. She worked for a number of years at Crouch, Spangler & Douglas Law Firm and during the 1980's, she also co-owned a number of local businesses, including a popular Mexican food restaurant and a custom furniture/ waterbed manufacturing and retail outlet.

Jeannene was known for her big heart and generous spirit. It manifested most frequently in her willingness to support those most in need around her. She will be fondly remembered for her true charity to those who often had nowhere else to turn and for her unconditional support. She leaves a legacy that she little expected and that resonates out from her over multiple generations.

She was a devoted wife to Paul Murray Kartsonis and a loving mother. She is survived by two sons, Paul David Kartsonis and his wife, Barbara, Redondo Beach, CA and Timothy Kelly Kartsonis, Dallas, TX and two grandchildren, David M. Kartsonis and Rachael M. Kartsonis, both of Redondo Beach, CA.
