Jean Maxine Kuhns, 93, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville. Graveside services were held Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Princeton, MO.
Maxine was born August 30, 1926 in Princeton, MO, a daughter of James Russell and Virgie Lee (Sparks) Blakesley. She was a 1944 graduate of Princeton High School. She married Fred Lewis Kuhns on June 17, 1944. Maxine moved to Kansas City, MO where she lived from 1948-1984, returning to Princeton in 1984. In 2007 she moved to Harrisonville. Maxine was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville and was a former member of the Mercer County Garden Club.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred Lewis Kuhns on January 28, 1995 and a son, Fred Russell "Rusty" Kuhns on August 16, 1985. She is survived by one son, Mark Kuhns (Tina), Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Janie Henry, Kansas City, MO and Andrea King (Mike), Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Joan Cox, Louisburg, KS; 10 grandchildren, Joseph Caponetto, Gina Caster, Tiffany King, Jennifer Stitt, Rebecca King, Andrea Gunn-Henderson, Jason Kuhns, Michael Kuhns, Meggan Baehr and Shelby Kuhns, and 21 great-grandchildren.
