Jean Garrison, 97, of Adrian, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Medicalodge of Butler. Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian. Interment in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Lt. Charles Garrison Veterans Memorial or Adrian Christian Church or Happy Hill Church of God.
Jean was born March 13, 1925 to Lawrence Thompson and Florence (Howe) Thompson in Altona, MO. She started off life by surviving being born at only three pounds but it did not stop her from living a full life. Jean grew up east of Adrian in the Ballard area and was a proud graduate of Ballard schools. She married Emsley Garrison on December 9th 1950, when they moved to their farm with their daughter Billie Jo. Jean held down the occupation of Farmer's wife, helping do whatever was needed around the farm. She was a faithful attender of Adrian Christian Church and then Happy Hill Church of God later in her life. Jean was a very good cook and could feed an army with some of her meals she prepared; making sure no one went away hungry. Making sure her yard was that of golf course appearance was a top priority for her and she loved growing and tending to flowers. It was not unusual to see her spending time with two close and dear friends, Lavaun and Isabelle, but her greatest joy, and the way she would spend most of her time, was with her family. She loved all of her family dearly and the little ones always had a dear place in her heart.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emsley; daughter, Billie Jo Diehl; brother Thomas "Bud" Glenn Thompson; and sisters: Hazel Shelton and Christine Dobson. She is survived by grandchildren: Bryon (Elaine) Diehl and Shelli (Doug) White; her 6 great-grandchildren: Emsley Matthew (Gerry) Diehl, Courtney Diehl (Trevor), Erik (Jacey) White, Tayler (Drew) Feldman, Brendin (Samantha) White, and Madison Petty; her 10 great-great-grandchildren: Norah Gregg, Brantly Diehl, Aiden Diehl, Abel Petty, Emery Gregg, Adaline Diehl, Stella Petty, Trixie White, Wrenn Feldman, Enzo White; one brother Lawrence Wesley Thompson Jr. and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
