Thelma Jean Anderson, 86, of Liberty, MO passed away at her home July 14, 2017. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville. Contributions made be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Association.

Jean was born February 26, 1931 in Harrisonville, MO, a daughter of William Smith and Lena May (Pennington) Miller. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Harrisonville High School.

She was united in marriage to George Redmond Anderson Jr. July 1, 1950 at the First Christian Church in Harrisonville. After George retired from Midland Brick, they moved to Urich, MO and ran the Town Tavern from 1978 until 1993. They continued to live in Urich until moving to Liberty in 2002.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George on January 7, 2012, her parents, a brother, Jack, and a sister, Bettie.
She is survived by three daughters, Elnora Anderson, Independence, MO, Ginny Kennedy, Pleasant Valley, MO, and Robin Flanigan, and husband Tim, Liberty, MO. Two brothers, Bill Miller, Harrisonville, and Danny Miller, and wife Margaret, Raymore, MO. A sister, Janie Miller, Harrisonville and a sister-in-law, Doris Ingham, Urich, MO. Five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
