Jannett Marie Sears, 78, Peculiar, MO, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at her home.  Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.

Jannett was born January 29, 1942 in Ventura, CA, a daughter of Len and Thelma J. (Brixey) Russell.  She married Robert O. Sears on December 14, 1958 in Santa Paula, CA.  She had lived in Raytown, MO before moving to Peculiar where she had lived for 53 years.  Jannett was a homemaker, seamstress, cake decorator, andowned and operated "Sears Shears" hair salon in Peculiar.  She enjoyed playing games, puzzles, crocheting and her dog, Lizzy.

Jannett was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; one son, Len Sears, Peculiar, MO; three daughters, Geneta Vierra (Nina), Jan Feist (Pete), all of Independence, MO, and Shirley Bolinger (Robbie), Houston, TX; one sister, Lydia Grimes, Kingman, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Rankin, Nicole Wakeman, Sara Sears and Jacob Feist; 7 great-grandchildren, and 9 nieces and nephews.
