Janet Lorene Ellison, 79, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-10:30. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Janet was born November 23, 1936 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Mack and Amy (Huff) Ellison. Janet had worked in the food service industry for many years, retiring from Cass Regional Medical Center in 2002 after 29 years of service. She was honored as the employee of the year at Cass Regional Medical Center in 1984. Janet served as a member of the CMC Auxiliary since 2003.

Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville since 1984. She was a member of the WMU, Faithful Friends and the Bible Learners Sunday School class. Janet's warm and outgoing personality touched many lives in positive ways. She particularly enjoyed sharing her baked goods with neighbors and friends. One highlight of Janet's life was the opportunity to go on her dream vacation to Hawaii in 2005.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Surviving family members include Bill and Angie Weddington and children, Curt and Violet Warren and their children; two cousins, and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
