Jane R. Baker, 85, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 400 West Wall Street, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Contributions may be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church in Harrisonville.
Jane was born April 5, 1925 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the daughter of William and Davina (Taylor) Thomson. Jane was working for the London Police when she met her future husband, Curtis. She married Curtis L. Baker on November 3, 1943 in London, England. They moved to the United States in 1946.
Curtis was an engineer and they lived all over the United States before moving to Harrisonville in 1978. Jane became a U. S. Citizen in 1966. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Harrisonville. She worked for the West Central Missouri Community Action Agency for five years.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Curtis. She is survived by one son, Curt Baker of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Dee Hamilton of Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Wilma Nagel of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
