James "Jim" Landon Yoder, 72, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, January 8, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Jim was born July 13, 1936 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Reuben and Ruth (Schrock) Yoder. He was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. Jim began farming at an early age with his father and brother, Jerald, on the family farm. He attended Hesston College for one year. Jim was married to Miriam Martin in April 1958 and to this union three sons were born.
Jim owned and operated the Yoder Orchards in Harrisonville, Carrolton and Waverly. He was instrumental in starting the Harrisonville Mennonite Church and the Harrisonville Worship Center. After selling the orchards, Jim became a real estate agent.
Jim was united in marriage to Linda Ford Allee on June 14, 1988. He was a charter member of the Harrisonville Elks Lodge #2791. Jim was the owner of Ace In The Hole Bail Bonds from 1996-2009.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Garry. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; three sons, Phillip Yoder, Harrisonville, MO, Eric Yoder, Lynchburg, VA, and Brian Allee, Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Janet Stuckey, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Jerald Yoder, Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Donna Yoder, Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
