James "Jim" Wesley Perdue, 77, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, August 19, 2011 at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Harrisonville.
Jim was born January 24, 1934 in Madison, Tennessee, the son of Vernon Esley and Mary Emma (Merritt) Perdue. He married Lenora "Pinky" Zeller on October 12, 1958 in Harrisonville. He had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Archie, where he lived for 20 years. He moved back to Harrisonville after his wife died.
Jim worked for Lynn Valley Lake as a maintenance foreman for 12 years before retiring. Jim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Grace Christian Tabernacle.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pinky on October 10, 2008. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Rogers of Goodlettsville, TN; four brothers, John L. Sullivan, Old Hickory, TN, Ralph Kennedy Perdue, Carthage, TN, Dewey Perdue, Harrisonville, MO and Wayne Perdue, Old Fort, NC; one sister, Barbara Taylor, Garden City, MO; two grandchildren, Kelly White and Casey White and one great-great-granddaughter, Britton White.
