James "Jim" Clifford Tripod, 85, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home in Harrisonville. Memorial services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Jim was born February 11, 1928 in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of Clifford F. and Vivian (Underwood) Tripod. Jim grew up and graduated from high school in Paragould. He was united in marriage to Jenice "Judy" Colley on August 20, 1946 in Kennett, Missouri. They moved to Harrisonville in 1970.
Jim was an Army veteran of WW II, a member and past Commander of Harrisonville VFW Post 4409, and a charter member of the Harrisonville Honor Guard. Jim worked at Allied Signal (Honeywell) in Kansas City as an electrician and retired in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy, on November 2, 2008, and two brothers, Jerry and Bill Tripod. Jim is survived by one son, Chuck Tripod and wife, Vicki, Harrisonville, Missouri; three daughters, Becky Castro and husband, Mario, Kansas City, Missouri, Pam Conaghan and husband, John, Overland Park, Kansas and Debbie Tripod, Harrisonville; one brother, Forrest Tripod, Pargould, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
