James "Russell" Still, 64, Peculiar, MO, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be at a later date in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, Garden City, MO.

Russell was born September 22, 1946 in Cainsville, MO, the son of Orley Dale and Tola Marie (Reece) Still. He was a graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School and attended electronic school. He married Paula Marie Seymour on June 22, 1968 in Cainsville.

Russell worked as an over-the-road truck driver for All American Truck Line and Yellow Freight before retiring in December, 2007. He was a 34-year member of Local 41 Teamsters. Russell was a volunteer fireman with the Peculiar Fire Department and also had worked for the Peculiar Police Force. He attended the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church in Garden City, MO.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; one son, John Jeffry Still, Peculiar, MO; one daughter, Cheryl Lea Fries and her husband, David, Peculiar, MO; one brother, Ronald Still; one sister, Rita "Kay" Still and two grandchildren, Samantha Renee Fries and Alexander Travis Fries.
