James Francis Davenport, 86, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with visitation from 1:00-2:00.

Jim was born May 17, 1927 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of James Johnson and Hazel Dell (Stephens) Davenport. He married Barbara Ann (Hamilton) Wilborn on August 2, 1991 in Indianola, Iowa. Jim was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and retired from the Army National Guard as a helicopter crew chief. He had worked for Western Electric/AT&T for 19 years before retiring in 1971. He was a member of Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Harrisonville.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Helen, and his wife, Barbara, on March 26, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hart and her husband, Mike, Harrisonville, Missouri and Arlene Miller and her husband, Ralph, Bates City, Missouri; one step-daughter, Margie Barrows, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts; one nephew, Larry Wayne Armstrong of Kansas and one grandson, Elijah Andrew Hart.
