Obituary

James "Jim" D. Muchmore, 77, of Cleveland, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital – Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. A private family funeral service was held Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial  in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to West Line Christian Church.

Jim was born on January 11, 1943 in Warrensburg, Missouri, a son of Cloyd Elroy "C.E." and Jeraldine Alta (Ellenberger) Muchmore. Jim grew up in Warrensburg, graduating from College High School in 1961. He went on to Central Missouri State University and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1965. He married Barbara Joyce Crook on May 24, 1965, and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2008. They lived in Raytown and Greenwood, but eventually settled in Cleveland, Missouri in 1995.

Jim spent his career as an accountant. He worked for Star Journal Publishing Co in Warrensburg, Greenstreet Capital, Inc, and Aquila (formerly Missouri Public Service Company) throughout his life, and retired in 2007 from Aquila. Jim accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 10 at First Baptist Church in Warrensburg and was a current member of West Line Christian Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara. He is survived by his son, Danny (Lori) Muchmore of Greenwood, MO; his 3 grandchildren: Keillah Dillon, Wyatt Muchmore, and Josie Muchmore; and one great-grandchild, Hanely Dillon.
