James Kenneth Copeland, 64, Archie, MO, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, MO. Friends may call form 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

James was born August 28, 1946 in Urich, MO, the son of Edgar Martin and Maxine Mae (Ryan) Copeland. He worked for Garden City Elevator for 24 years as an over the road truck driver and continued driving a truck for several more years. He enjoyed helping on the farm when he was younger. His hobbies included paint-by-number and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Saundra (Bryant) Copeland and his second wife, Beverly (Ayler) Copeland; one brother, Lenvil Copeland and one granddaughter, Crystal Spitler. He is survived by two sons, Robert Copeland, Urich, MO and Brian Copeland and his wife, Trina, Springfield, MO; one daughter, Carol Spitler, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Billy Joe Copeland and his wife, Toni, Garden City, MO; two sisters, Mae Miller, Urich, MO and Sue Daniel and her husband, Bill, Clinton, MO; 11 grandchildren, Lindsey Spitler, Samantha Patrick, Jodi Lee Cumpton, Addi Rae Helm, Brittany Spangler, Ethan Stewart, Hunter Ayler, Alexis Lynch, Billie Jo Scantlin, Johnna Scantlin and Taylor Burr and 1 great-granddaughter, Serenity Tiehes.
